Taylor's – Vintage Port 2016
Douro, Portugal – Blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties
A majestic Vintage Port from an exceptional year
Taylor's Vintage Port 2016 is an impressive fortified wine that perfectly captures the essence of the house. From a year considered one of the best for Vintage Ports, this wine combines power, elegance and remarkable complexity. The grapes were hand-harvested from the best vineyards in the Douro Valley, including the famous Quinta de Vargellas.
Tasting notes
Deep purple-black in colour with a narrow magenta rim. The nose reveals intense aromas of forest fruits, green apple, fresh plum and raspberry, enveloped by hints of gumcistus and wild herbs. At a deeper level, exotic notes of cedar and jasmine add further complexity. On the palate the wine is powerful and structured, with fine, sculpted tannins and perfect acidity that carry the intense berry aromas into a long, energetic finish.
Food pairing
This Vintage Port is an excellent companion for blue cheeses such as Stilton, Gorgonzola and Roquefort. Also delicious with desserts with dark chocolate, nuts or dried fruits such as figs and apricots. It can also be combined well with savoury dishes such as grilled red meat or game.

Vinification & Maturation
The grapes for this Vintage Port come from the best parcels of Taylor's own vineyards in the Douro Valley. After careful selection, the grapes are vinified traditionally and the wine is aged for 20 months in large oak barrels before bottling. This approach produces a wine with exceptional structure and great ageing potential.
