Douro, Portugal – Blend of traditional grape varieties
A classic Vintage Port with impressive depth and elegance
The Taylor's Vintage Port 2018 is an exceptional wine, coming from the renowned vineyards Quinta de Vargellas and Quinta de Terra Feita. This vintage is characterized by its deep, almost opaque purple color and an intense aromatic profile.
Tasting notes
On the nose an explosion of powerful forest fruits, a dense coulis of blackberries and blackcurrants, complemented by subtle notes of cherry and mocha. The bouquet is further enriched with floral hints of violets and rose petals, as well as minty herbal aromas. On the palate the wine presents itself with beautifully ripe tannins that integrate perfectly into the mid-palate, which offers both structure and volume. The finish is powerful and complex, with an endless stream of fresh fruit.
Food pairing
This Vintage Port is ideally suited as a digestif and combines well with blue cheeses such as Stilton or Gorgonzola. Serve at a temperature of 16–18°C. Decant before serving to allow the wine to fully develop.
