An exceptional Albariño with historical allure
The La Fillaboa 1898 2016 is a rare and prestigious Albariño from the DO Rías Baixas, produced by Bodegas Fillaboa. This wine honours the history of the bodega, which has been exporting wines to Cuba since 1898. The 2016 edition is a limited edition of only 6,636 bottles, made from the best grapes from eight selected plots. After six years of maturation on fine lees, this wine has developed an unprecedented complexity and elegance, while maintaining its fresh character.
Tasting notes
In the glass, the wine shows a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections. The nose is expressive, with aromas of ripe pear, dried thyme and wet stone. In the mouth, the wine is full and silky, with flavors of peach, apricot, Valencia orange, dried Mediterranean herbs and fennel pollen. The finish is dynamic and persistent, with a perfect balance between freshness and complexity.
