Excellent with grilled red meat, game dishes and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16–18°C. Decant before serving to allow the wine to fully develop.
Reviews & Awards
-
Robert Parker (Wine Advocate) : "Full-bodied, with magnificent extraction of fruit and a layered, viscous texture, this unctuous, super-concentrated wine has plenty of tannin lurking behind the ostentatious display of richness."
-
CellarTracker : User reviews highlight the complexity and depth of this wine, with comments on its aging potential and balanced structure.
Vinification & Maturation
The grapes were harvested by hand from old vines in the Charbonnières and Les Esqueirons vineyards. After fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of concrete vats and foudres for 16 to 18 months, which contributed to its complexity and structure.
