Elena Walch – Castel Ringberg Lagrein Riserva 2019 – 1.5L OWC
Alto Adige (South Tyrol), Italy – 100% Lagrein
A powerful and elegant expression of Alto Adige's indigenous grape
Elena Walch's Lagrein Riserva 2019 comes from the prestigious Vigna Castel Ringberg vineyard near Kaltern. This single-vineyard wine reflects the region's unique terroir of chalky soils and microclimate. After careful vinification and 20 months of maturation in French oak barriques, followed by bottle aging, this wine presents itself with depth and complexity.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red in colour. On the nose aromas of blackcurrants, plums, dried figs, hints of chocolate and a subtle smoky touch. The palate is full and silky, with flavours of dark berries, vanilla, sweet spices and a mineral undertone. The finish is long and refined.
Food pairing
Excellent with grilled red meat, game dishes, lamb, pasta with rich sauces and mature cheeses.

Vinification & Maturation
After manual harvesting, the wine undergoes fermentation for approximately 10 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 20 months in French oak barriques, some of which are new, and then spends several months in bottle before being released.
