An iconic white wine from Alto Adige
Elena Walch’s Beyond The Clouds Bianco 2022 is a masterful blend that embodies the elegance and complexity of Alto Adige’s white wines. Dominated by Chardonnay and complemented by aromatic varieties such as Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, this cuvée comes from carefully selected plots in the region’s high-altitude vineyards. After fermentation in new French oak barriques, the wine is aged for 10 months on fine lees, followed by a minimum of 6 months in bottle, resulting in a wine of exceptional depth and finesse.
Tasting notes
In the glass, the wine shines with an intense straw yellow color. The nose reveals a complex and seductive aroma of exotic fruits such as pineapple, floral notes of blossom and rose petals, and subtle hints of toasted bread and vanilla. On the palate, the wine presents itself as full and structured, with a creamy softness and a lively freshness. The finish is long and elegant, with a delicate integration of wood notes and a persistent minerality.
Reviews & Awards
-
Wine Spectator: 94 points – "A graceful white, with a sleek, poised feel to the interplay of vivid acidity and concentrated flavors of golden apple, pineapple and tangerine fruit, baking spices, spun honey and hazelnut. Aromatic and enticing, with jasmine and lime blossom notes wafting through the wine and on the salty, mineral-laced finish."
-
