An expressive Grand Cru from the heart of the Côte de Nuits
The Domaine Faiveley Échezeaux Grand Cru 'En Orveaux' 2019 is a masterpiece of elegance and complexity. Coming from the prestigious 'En Orveaux' parcel, located on a slope near Chambolle-Musigny, this wine embodies the finesse typical of the Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte de Nuits.
Tasting notes
In the glass the wine shows a bright ruby red color. The nose is seductive with aromas of black cherries, plums, orange peel, rose petals, sweet earth and spices. On the palate the wine is medium to full bodied, with a silky texture, lively acidity and a precise finish. The structure is harmonious and offers excellent aging potential.
Reviews & Awards
-
Wine Spectator: 97 points
"This red wine is silky, complex and very expressive. Delivers flavours of black cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, spicy oak and mineral notes, while the well-integrated structure provides support. Very harmonious and long." -
Wine Advocate (Robert Parker): 92–94 points
"The 2019 Échezeaux En Orveaux Grand Cru is a success, with aromas of plums and berries, complemented by suggestions of orange peel, sweet earth tones, peonies and spices. Medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, it is enveloping yet lively, with vibrant acidity and a precise finish." -
Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy: 93–96 points
"One of the lighter colours, but still a full, attractive purple hue. White marl, without clay or stones. But there is a sweetness of fruit and a tension that holds it in place. Perhaps just a little less precision, less refinement than some years."
