Great Barbaresco in a rare magnum edition
The Barbaresco DOCG 2019 from the iconic house of Gaja is a masterpiece of Nebbiolo, bottled in a rare magnum format. In this exceptional vintage, Gaja decided not to bottle separate crus. Instead, the fruit from top vineyards such as Sorì Tildin, Costa Russi and Sorì San Lorenzo was brought together in this one characterful Barbaresco. The magnum bottle offers a slower maturation process, resulting in extra complexity and ageing potential.
Tasting notes
The wine shows a ruby red color with garnet reflections. In the nose aromas of rose petals, raspberries, ripe cherries, orange peel and light tobacco. In the mouth the wine is powerful and silky at the same time, with a core of ripe red fruit, lively acidity and fine, perfectly integrated tannins. The finish is long, mineral and perfectly balanced.
