A powerful and elegant Brunello from the heart of Montalcino

The Brunello di Montalcino 2016 from Gaja's Pieve Santa Restituta is an expressive and elegant wine, coming from carefully selected vineyards around the historic church of Santa Restituta. The 2016 vintage, characterized by an ideal growing season with warm days and cool nights, has resulted in a wine with depth, structure and impressive aging potential.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby ​​red in colour. In the nose aromas of black cherry, plum, mint, tobacco and spices. In the mouth powerful and structured with fresh acids, tight tannins and a long, complex finish.

Food pairing
Excellent with dishes such as ossobuco, risotto with mushrooms or truffle, game dishes and mature hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano.

Vinification & Maturation
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in large oak barrels, followed by bottle aging.
